Corporate Health & Wellness Programs

Our Corporate Wellness Program takes care of your most precious resource: your employees. Baylor Rice and professional members of his staff are available for on-site testing and employee health fairs for your business, agency or group. Previously, we have attended whole-day events and brief scheduled drop-ins with: city and state government agencies, country clubs, health clubs, women’s groups, large corporations and doctors’ offices.

Consider providing your employees a “Wellness Day” and include us as part of your program.
In addition to testing and screening, we can also provide speakers, displays, consulting, and chair massage with a licensed MT.

On-Site Tests


Cholesterol: Using the cholestech machine this screening gives a breakdown of High Density Lipoproteins (HDL’s), Low Density Lipoproteins (LDL’s), and triglyceride levels. HDL’s are packages which travel through the bloodstream containing small amounts of cholesterol and are considered “good” cholesterol because they carry cholesterol back to the liver to be removed from the body. LDL’s are packages which travel through the bloodstream containing the largest amount of cholesterol and are considered “bad” cholesterol because they deposit cholesterol in artery walls. Triglycerides are the fat carried through the bloodstream and changed to energy. Excess triglycerides become stored as body fat. It is important for your healthcare professional to have this information to determine your risk for heart disease. Cost of screening: $30

BMD: Early detection with a Bone Density Test is imperative for Osteoporosis treatment and prevention. At South River Compounding Pharmacy we are working to make the early detection of Osteoporosis practical by offering reasonably priced Bone Density testing to the public. The system we use is a SAHARA Ultrasound Bone Densitometer designed and manufactured by Hologic. The use of this system allows the assessment of bone density in the heel with excellent precision. It is non-invasive, requires no disrobing and produces easily interpreted reports in less than four minutes. Cost of screening: $35

Body Composition: Weight alone is not a clear indicator of good health, because it does not distinguish between pounds that come from fat and those that come from lean mass or muscle. Carrying too much fat is called obesity, and puts a person at risk for many serious medical conditions including heart disease, diabetes and even certain forms of cancer. In fact, obesity contributes to at least half the chronic diseases in western society. The Futrex machine we use to measure body fat emits near infrared light at precise frequencies into your body-frequencies where body fat will absorb the light and lean muscle will reflect the light. This method for measuring body fat is comparable to underwater weighing values. Cost of screening: $25

Blood Glucose: Glucose is the simplest form of carbohydrate used for energy in the body. It is important to have blood glucose checked because if the levels are either too high or too low it can lead to serious medical emergencies. Cost of screening: $10

Allergy Testing: The ELISA/ACT LRA tests specialize in detecting delayed responses to allergens. It can take from two hours to three weeks after being exposed to an allergen for the body to show signs of a weakened immune system. By focusing on identifying causes of chronic conditions and repairing and strengthening the immune system, the ELISA/ACT LRA tests are able to measure delayed allergic reactions to over 400 different items.

Lung Function: Spirometry measures how much and how quickly air can be expelled from the lungs following a deep breath. It is performed by having the patient breathe out forcefully into a device called a spirometer. The SP-10 machine makes a tracing of the rate at which the air leaves the lung. Diseases of airflow obstruction and of lung stiffening give characteristic tracings with spirometry. Cost of screening: $20

Insurance: Since we are a compounding pharmacy and use several different ingredients for our prescriptions, we do not bill online. We have our patients pay up front and we will submit a paper claim form for them to their insurance companies for the patient to be reimbursed directly.


Health Fairs


South River participates in health fairs where we supply a booth of information and displays about our pharmacy. We are able to travel with our machines enabling us to administer bone density, body composition, cholesterol, lung function and other screenings to the visitors. We are also able to offer chair massages by a licensed Message Therapist at health fairs.
