Consultations
How Personal Health Consultations Work
There are several options for beginning your individualized, custom therapy program.
We can start by scheduling a consultation for an evaluation. Consultations can be done in person at our Midlothian, Virginia location or on the phone, for those who cannot physically come to us. The fee is $150/hour, and you are only charged for whatever portion of the hour you use.
We have you complete an extensive patient history and health questionnaire before hand, which provides us with important information regarding any health issues you have and medicines and supplements you are currently taking. Our questionnaires are important tools we use to get to know and assist you.
During the consultation, you have an opportunity to ask questions and tell us your goals. We have a holistic approach to helping people and feel that it is important to educate and offer information so that each individual can more easily take responsibility for their own health. We help you understand what your symptoms may be trying to tell you and guide you toward solutions that don’t just treat the symptoms. Together we would arrive at a protocol designed to help you reach your goals. We may want to see some current lab results for specific hormone levels, and we can work with your doctor on this, or if you live in the Richmond, Petersburg, or Fredericksburg areas, we can give you the names of some doctors we presently work with.
We also offer saliva test kits for hormone, thyroid and adrenal hormones. The specifics of which test would be best for you can be discussed during the consultation. Post consultation, when your lab results come in, we would review them and make any recommendations needed for a prescription back to your doctor. If your doctor approves the prescription, we fill it and you can pick it up or we can ship to you. We do not take insurance, but will file a claim with your carrier so that you may be reimbursed directly if applicable.
We also offer the option of bypassing the consultation. In this option, we review your questionnaire and lab test results and make a recommendation for a prescription, if indicated, directly to your doctor. There is no fee for this “review and recommend” option. The disadvantage to this method is that it eliminates a useful opportunity for exchange of information beyond the questionnaire
